My main research focus is on Latino biculturalism. Specifically, I examine the relation between Latino Bicultural Identity Integration (BII) and self/group personality perceptions. I am also examining the effects of BII on Latino psychological well-being. Finally, I am interested in the difference between explicit-implicit bicultural identity and its relationship to BII.

Tina Kim, M.A.
I am interested in examining the nature of biculturalism processes and its impact on cognition, behavior, and well-being.
More specifically, I examine (1) biculturalism and cognitive complexity, (2) Bicultural Identity Integration (BII) and
self-other personality perception, (3) Cultural Frame Switching (CFS) and conflict resolution, (4) relations among BII,
ethnic identity, and well-being, and (5) how culture and personality influence conflict resolution and well-being. I am also
interested in the role of spirituality in the lives of bicultural individuals.

Que-Lam Huynh, M.A. [website]
My main role in the lab is to further the psychometric foundations of the Bicultural Identity Integration construct.
Currently, I am collecting validation data for the Bicultural Identity Integration Scale - Version 2 (BIIS-2).
I am also interested in the measurement of culture in general, especially the measurement of acculturation behaviors, attitudes, and values.

Angela-MinhTu D. Nguyen, M.A.
My main research areas of interests are acculturation and biculturalism, specifically Bicultural Identity Integration (BII).
I am also interested in the phenomenon of cultural frame switching and the applied setting of cultural sensitivity training.
I explore all these variables with an eye toward implications for mental health, ethnic minority communities, and the workplace.
In particular, I am investigating (1) the benefits of costs of being bicultural, (2) the relations among BII, acculturation, and ethnic identity, (3) the measurement of acculturation and cultural values, (4) bilingualism and cultural frame-switching, and (5) intercultural sensitivity.
